The Boyne valley with its beautiful river and incredible history is just 40 minutes north of Dublin and its home to an ancient history of human occupation dating back at least 6000 years. This is Beaulieu House an 800-year-old mansion that is one of the first unfortified houses in Ireland that survives today and a rare survivor of the artisan mannerist style of architecture.

  • It has astonishing attractions such as Newgrange an incredible burial mound older than the Egyptian Pyramids.
  • Its also home to some of the most beautiful castles and estates in all of Ireland.
  • It’s also been home to the Tichbourne family for 11 generations and they still live here today.
  • The walled garden is over 4 acres of history that remains true to the original design and plantings from the day.
  • The garden is one that carries original documentation explaining Sir Henry’s collection and growing’s of unusual fruits such as figs and nectarines in the 1720’s.
  • The gardens are mainly ornamental these days and feature some stunning topiary works with hedges and shaped trees.
  • The best time of year to experience them is between May and July. This garden is the perfect setting for a wedding or special event and a destination for Dubliners on warm weekends.
  • The garden is open between June and September each year.
