Title: Flemings Fraxinus pennsylvanica ‘Cimmzam’ Cimmaron
Broadcast: Apr 15
Presenter: Trevor Cochrane
We’re often asked about the best trees for a city situation, a large garden or even a city park and today Trevor shows us an absolute ripper called Fraxinus pennsylvanica ‘Cimmzam’ Cimmaron.
- Firstly it’s deciduous, allowing sunlight into a garden in winter it grows to about 13 meters high with a spread of 8 meters wide.
- A robust, low maintenance tree with an excellent branch structure. The foliage is positioned on a very well structured canopy and in the late autumn-early winter it fires up to a stunning deep burgundy colour right through to a fiery brick red.
- It’s a wonderful shade tree, an absolute delight to grow and it does incredibly well during our long hot summers.
- Fleming’s, the tree family are the ones who’ve introduced this, it’s just one of their stable of amazing trees for Australian gardens. Make sure you check them out. If you want to get your hands on them all you have to do is check out Fleming’s website.
