One challenge we are getting asked about all the time here at The Garden Gurus is “what do I do with all my extra produce?” Well today our favourite chef Sophie Budd shows us a beautiful mostarda figs recipe.
What you need:
- 5 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 stick cinnamon
- 1 cup white balsamic
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 kilo cut figs
- Crush the mustard seeds in a pestle and mortar.
- In a pot put the sugar, vinegar, water and bring to a simmer, add the crushed mustard seeds and both cinnamon.
- Add the figs and simmer for a few minutes.
- Pour in to preserved jars and leave for at least 1 month before eating.
