With soils warming up, spring is a great time of year to start planting. Plants are at their most vulnerable while they’re young, so it’s important to make sure you’re properly cultivating the soil.

• When planting, you should dig a hole as deep as the root ball and about 3 times as wide, loosening the soil around the planting zone. Don’t forget to give the plant a good water before taking it out of the plastic pot – it’ll make it easier to remove
• Once you have replanted your plant, you need to give it a quick hit of nutrition. A great way to do this is with a Troforte plant tablet. Simply place a tablet about 150 mm below the soil surface, and about 50 mm away from the rootball
• Troforte all-purpose plant tablets are full of slow release nutrients and coated with beneficial microbes. They are the best way to give your plant a measured dose of nutrients, and will last up to 8 months
• Make sure to water your new plant straight away. This will help settle the soil, removing any air pockets, and give the roots a good drink. Applying water will also activate the microbes in the Troforte tablets, putting them to work on your soil
