Autumn and spring are the best times to be out planting in your garden.
- Autumn is salvia season, and the Kisses and Wishes variety has a nice compact shape. It can grow 80cm tall and wide and is the perfect plant for pots.
- Japanese maple trees are known for their absolutely stunning colour, with red, orange and yellow shades. They come in upright varieties for a nice canopy, or beautiful weeping varieties perfect for potting.
- Fucisas can bring a lot of colour to your garden. They require shade, so plant them in a spot where they can get the morning sun. Be sure to grow them in a humus rich soil and keep them nice and moist over summer.
- Russell lupins have the most spectacular flowers atop their long stems. They range in beautiful jewel tone colours, and their foliage is a nice decorative touch. These are very tough plants, so you can plant them in a sandy soil. They’re also great at fixing any nitrogen issues in your soil.
