Sue shows us a range of plants that can be planted now to make wonderful warm herbal teas, perfect for the coming cooler months.

  • Chamomile German tea is known for its therapeutic benefits. It is great for relaxation, insomnia and reducing inflammation.
  • The Chamomile plant should be watered regularly until it is well established and then only occasionally watered as the plant matures.
  • Chamomile is a hardy annual plant that grows well in dry conditions. The flowers that are harvested can be dried out and used to make a therapeutic herbal tea.
  • Moroccan Mint is extremely hardy and grows well in nearly any climate with minimum care. It is best grown in a pot because it has the potential to be invasive.
  • Moroccan Mint has a clean sweet minty aroma and taste. The fresh leaves can be added to hot water or combine with green tea and sugar to make Moroccan Tea.
  • The Dandelion plant is full of antioxidants, reduces inflammation, and has been said to aid in reducing blood pressure and supporting weight loss.
  • Dandelion is a perennial but should be grown as an annual to prevent bitterness from developing in the plant.
  • Dandelion grows all year round in warm environments but becomes dormant in environments that experience a cold winter.
