How to take care of your Dahlias this autumn.
- Dahlias are right in vogue-hugely popular cut flowers.
- In cooler regions of Australia, they’re only just coming into bloom but in warmer parts, they've been flowering for months.
- Challenging weather patterns have resulted in many dahlias being affected by spider mites, aphids and powdery mildew.
- Liquid nutrients will give increase flower buds immediately and green up yellowing leaves.
- Watch for mosaic virus and dahlia virus and be vigilant to remove plants entirely width is particular type of yellow circles in the leaves. If the plant isn’t removed, the virus will spread to all the dahlias in your garden.
- How you chose to stake dahlias up is really important. Choosing to zigzag a black cloth string around timber stakes which has been excellent in keeping them upright.
