  • One of the healthiest vegetables you can grow at home has to be this one. It’s a member of the Brassica family, the family includes some veggies you know, like Cabbage, Broccoli, Cauliflower and this weird but wonderful European Vegetable KohlRabi.
  • The name means German turnip but it's not a root veggie, it's a swollen stem, rich in antioxidants.
  • It might have a German name but it originates from the Kashmir region of central asia. It has been grown in Europe for at least 500 years and Greeks love eating it raw with salt and olive oil.
  • This is one vegetable that is super good for you too. As part of a healthy diet, kohlrabi can help improve overall metabolism and aid with weight loss.
  • Because kohlrabi is high in calcium and magnesium, it contributes to stronger bones. But there’s a member of this family that is even more important to your body's health and we should all be growing it at home.
  • Kale has a rich source of antioxidants, widely believed to be the densest sources of all vegetables. It is definitely one of the healthiest and most nutritious plant foods in existence.
  • Benefits include helping manage blood pressure, boosting digestive health, and protecting against cancer and type 2 diabetes. Kale contains fiber, antioxidants, calcium, vitamins C and K, iron, and a wide range of other nutrients that can help prevent various health problems.
  • Antioxidants help the body remove unwanted toxins that result from natural processes and environmental pressures.
  • Growing kale: They are best planted in the autumn and winter and will grow all year round.
