• Combat dry patches and bare areas by aerating the lawn to open the soil profile, allowing air and water to penetrate effectively.
• Ensure even moisture absorption by using wetting agents to break down soil, waxy coatings, facilitating deep water penetration and reducing water usage.
• Apply liquid wetting agents every 6 to 8 weeks, including during cooler months, to maintain healthy soil moisture levels.
• Apply pre-emergent herbicides in autumn to prevent winter weeds like Winter Grass by coating weed seeds and inhibiting germination.
• Combat nutrient deficiencies and maintain lawn vigour with liquid foliar fertilizers, which supply readily absorbable nutrients to keep the lawn green and resilient against pests and diseases.
• Apply wetting agents, pre-emergent, and foliar fertilizers consistently throughout autumn and winter to ensure the lawn remains healthy, green, and water-wise.
• Appreciate lawns as not only recreational spaces but also for their natural cooling effect and ability to store carbon, making autumn and winter maintenance crucial for preserving their environmental benefits.
