- Choose pots that are stable, drain well, and complement your garden's aesthetic while preventing root rot.
- Use a waterproof sealant inside and out to maintain moisture levels and prevent staining.
- Do not go for cheap mixes, but rather, use premium or specialty mixes to provide essential nutrients for plant growth.
- When repotting, incorporate fertilizer into the mix to support plant growth and development.
- Ensure plants are not installed deeper than their original pots and transition gradually to larger pots to avoid stress.
- Use pot feet to lift pots off the ground, preventing root obstruction and ensuring proper drainage.
- Experiment with a variety of plants, from ornamental shrubs to fruit trees and native species, ensuring proper drainage for each.
- Monitor and check and water potted plants, especially during warmer months, and ensure adequate drainage after rainfall to promote healthy growth and longevity.
