Bonnie advises that with the right mower and proper care, mowing can become just one enjoyable part of your day in the garden, leaving you more time to appreciate the beauty around you.

  • Spring is the perfect time to give your lawn a nutrient boost with a nitrogen-rich fertiliser. This will promote strong, healthy growth, ensuring your lawn remains lush and vibrant throughout the season.
  • It's essential to mow frequently rather than cutting large amounts of grass at once. Regular mowing encourages thicker grass growth, helps fill in bare patches, and reduces the likelihood of weeds taking hold. Plus, it keeps your lawn looking neat and tidy.
  • Consider using the 54V XR Flex Volt Self-Propelled Mower. With its brushless motor and high-efficiency deck, this mower reduces the load on the motor, optimising battery runtime while minimising the reprocessing of clippings.
  • Avoid scalping by keeping your mower blades at a height of around 2.5 to 3 inches. Cutting your grass too short can weaken it and lead to more issues, so this height helps promote a healthier lawn overall.
  • The mower’s autosense technology automatically adjusts the blade speed depending on the grass thickness. This means you won’t have to stop or adjust—just keep moving and let the mower do the work!
  • If your lawn isn’t perfectly flat, the rear-wheel drive of this mower provides extra traction to navigate slopes and turns effortlessly. The variable speed adjustment allows you to match the mower’s pace to your walking speed, whether you're taking it slow or speeding up.
  • The LED display keeps you informed about the battery charge, motor load, and temperature. It even alerts you when it’s time to sharpen the blades after 30 hours of use, helping you maintain optimal performance.
  • Spring often brings plenty of rain, but if there’s a dry spell, ensure your lawn gets a good drink. Watering in the morning is best, as it reduces evaporation and allows the grass to absorb moisture before the heat of the day sets in.
