Title: Propagation
Broadcast: 27th September
Presenter: Steve

One of the great joys of gardening is propagation, starting your own plants from scratch, it’s free and it’s the ultimate in sustainable in gardening and it is very easy.

  • There’s almost nothing in the garden that you cannot propagate.
  • Rosemary and Lavenders are a good example of plants that grow very well from propagation.
  • Cut off the foliage from your cuttings, your cuttings should be at least 10cm to propagate.
  • Make sure to dip your cuttings into some hormone gel, dig a little hole, not too deep that it will bury the cuttings and put it in.
  • You can even propagate fruits and vegetables, by cutting off the tops of them, carrot tops and pineapple tops are examples of such, otherwise plant the seeds left behind.
  • Your harvests will grow all through the summer months, all the way until the seasons begin to cool, that is when they’re right to harvest.
