Title: Autumn Colour Plants
Broadcast: 23rd April
Presenter: Trevor Cochrane
Autumn is simply a dazzling time in the Garden, and for a lot of people autumn colour is a visually appealing must have in the garden.
- Japanese Wind Flowers make a stunning colour show this time of the year, producing large clusters of flowers atop long stems.
- If you’re looking to brighten up the garden during the winter months, one of the best groups of plants that you can put in are the Rhododendrons, Azaleas and Camellias in particular.
- Roses will be flourishing in your backyard this time of year, normally occurring after the first autumn rains- this is a result of rain being rich in nitrogen, which boosts growth in your roses.
- If you love climbing plants then the pink coral vine is something you’d want for the autumn months. It is a tendril climber and it’s deciduous, meaning it will die back during the winter months.
