This week we’re taking you into the IGA Perth Royal Show where the Gurus have a huge demonstration garden full of great ideas.

• The garden has a distinct theme- natural and edible. It features beautiful hearty plant species ideal for home garden environments and veggies grown in large raised garden beds. It’s got chooks, ducks, Japanese quails and also some great examples of aquaponics.
• There’s lots of waterwise messages in this garden and the paving has to be one of the best. This is a permeable block paver, meaning when you water the paving the water actually soaks through the paver and goes down into the underground aquifer and recharges it- this means your trees don’t need any water during the summer months.
• Garden Guru Faye Arcaro shows us her “bug hotel”. Helping finding bugs a habitat in things that we would naturally have- trunks, bamboo, mud blocks.
