With so much variety available on the market, it can sometimes be difficult to decide exactly what tool you need for the job. When it comes to digging, Nigel has a few tips to point you in the right direction.

  • A Post Hole Shovel, as its name suggests, is great for digging deep holes for posts or trees that might need some depth.
  • The lacquer-sealed Premium Spotted Gum Hardwood Handle of the Cyclone Post Hole Shovel allows for deep digging. The handle has additional strength and is very comfortable to grip.
  • The blade is 2mm of Boron and Titanium treated Australian steel, with reinforcing ribs for added strength.
  • For the heavier shifting work there’s the D-handle Shifting Shovel or square-mouth shovel. The shorter handle makes it ideal for in-close work and the D-handle is comfortable and adds extra strength.
  • The Cyclone D-handle Shovel also comes with a 2mm Boron and Titanium treated steel blade with reinforcing ribs.
  • The garden fork is often underestimated in the garden. Its purpose is to shift and turn the more solid ground matter like mulch and compost, or to break up the clods in a clay-based soil, or even to aerate the lawn.
  • The Cyclone D-handle fork has 4 tines roll forged from a single piece of steel, which ensures a much stronger structure.
