  • The tree canopy cover in WA is among the lowest in all of Australia. Many local councils are working towards increasing this cover by planting trees in residential streets, public spaces and offering residents a number of initiatives to encourage residents to create their own urban forests.
  • The City of Armadale provides a limited number of street trees to residents on an annual basis, as part of its Street Tree Planting Program. Any residential property owner within the City can request a street tree be planted on the verge adjoining their property
  • Street trees not only beautify the streetscape and help create vibrant communities, they also have functional benefits like enhancing property values, reducing ambient air temperature, cleaning the air by absorbing polluting gases, reducing cooling energy consumption costs, water saving through reduced evaporation and creating habitat for wildlife
  • The City Of Armadale is growing a greener City by planting and caring for street trees in your neighbourhood and encourage locals to embrace a tree being planted on the verge as well to to develop gardens beyond the verge.
  • The Kelmscott Agricultural Show has grown exponentially in recent years, proudly occupying the mantle of the second largest agricultural show in the metropolitan area. This would only be possible with the hard work of dedicated volunteers from the Kelmscott Agricultural Society.
