  • Trimming the lower foliage improves airflow, reducing the risk of mould and disease.
  • Removing excess lower foliage eliminates organic matter that can rot when in contact with the soil.
  • This guideline applies to a range of plants, from larger citrus trees to small indoor houseplants and vegetables like tomatoes and eggplants.
