Trevor gets his hands on the latest in the STIHL Battery powered tool line, a portable, lightweight, electric chainsaw for easy pruning and firewood preparations.

• The MSA 140 C-B is one of two chainsaws in STIHL’s AK system, which now features 12 high quality, high powered garden tools that are all compatible with the same interchangeable battery. The range includes hedge trimmers, grass trimmers and blowers.
• The MSA 140 C-B’s easy-to start system is easily noticeable compared to its gas counterpart - as with all STIHL battery tools, it starts at the touch of a button, which leaves less room for error and allows you to get stuck into your work quickly and easily.
• The second easily noticeable point is how quiet it is. It’s so quiet you can use it without ear protection, which means you’ll always be fully aware of your surroundings, and your neighbours won’t be inconvenienced when you’re chopping wood or trimming trees at any time of day.
• Each component of the saw has been perfectly optimised to maximise cutting performance and increase chain speed, whilst maximising battery runtime. The result is a chainsaw that can power through up to 180 cuts of approximately 10cm diameter wood on a single charge.
