Ever fancied growing your own, but have limited outdoor space? Shontelle shows us how it’s possible to grow indoors.
- It can be tricky protecting tiny seedlings from outside elements and hungry critters.
- An indoor seed raising kit can be a handy product to have in your inventory. Herbs, veggies and annuals can be started a lot easier in the season.
- Mr Fothergill’s biodegradable pots are perfect for growing your own, indoors. Made from natural fibres, the roots can grow through it, meaning plant and pot can go straight into its permanent home when the time is right.
- A substrate suitable to grow your seeds in is essential. Something light fluffy and not too high in nutrients: high levels of fertilisers will burn and kill young roots.
- Quick and easy expanding pellets mean no soil required at all. Hydrate the blocks, place them on a tray and put them on a sunny windowsill.
- Herbs and dwarf vegetable varieiss also grow well on a sunny windowsill in grow tins or pouch grow kits.
- Hydroponic set ups can be a good option too, like the Hydrogarden classic of elite, meaning you can grow your own anywhere.
