Title: Ireland Garden
Broadcast: Apr 8
Presenter: Trevor Cochrane
Over the years we’ve travelled to many countries with The Garden Gurus, showcasing many gardens. Today Trevor takes you to some of his favourites in Ireland.
- In Northern Ireland, half an hour from Belfast, you will find the beautiful Mount Stuart House and Gardens. Over 100 acres of stunning landscape created by Edith Lady of Londonderry. The Stuart Family has owned the garden since 1744 when they started an arboretum using plants collected from around the globe.
- If you find yourself in Ireland between April and October add Glenarm Castle To your itinerary – one of Irelands oldest walled gardens. Back in the day the garden provided fresh fruit and vegetables to the family who owned the garden, and the family still live in the castle today!
- Built back in the 17th century is Ultimate House and Gardens, which includes over 40 acres of manicured garden and about 60 acres of farm around the outside. This is a garden you simply have to visit.
- If you’re travelling to this part of the world you’ve just got to check out these gardens. Have a look on our website for the full stories.
