While growing your own fresh fruits and vegetables can be incredibly rewarding, it’s important to be sure that you are warding off bugs in the right way.
- Richgro Beat-A-Bug is a natural based insect spray made from indregients including pyrethrum, garlic, chili and fish oil. It kills a wide range of garden pests, while also providing your plants with a boost of natural nutrients at the site of the insect attack to help improve the plants resistance.
- When using a natural based insecticide containing pyrethrum, it is best to spray late afternoon or early evening. This will avoid harming beneficial insects that tend to be more active during the warmer parts of the day.
- The fast acting Pyrethrum denatures after around 5 hours, while the chili and garlic remain, acting as a repellent without harming the beneficial insects. It’s also for this reason that we should avoid spraying open flowers.
- Having a nature based repellent rather than a chemical based one is a huge asset to home growers, with your food crops being safe to eat after just 24 hours. Beat-A-Bug comes in a handy 1-litre bottle, with a 3-litre value pack available for bigger gardens.
