Transplanting Hydrangeas 101

Story: Transplanting Hydrangeas 101
Episode: 13
Presenter: Trevor Cochrane
Air Date: 14th November 2020

Winter is the best time for transplanting hydrangeas, but Trevor has a few tricks up his sleeve that will allow you to do it in spring.

  • Hydrangeas like rich and moist soil, so if you have that then transplanting them should be relatively easy.
  • You’ll need a hole twice as big as the plant’s root system and a high-quality potting mix.
  • Osmocote Premium Potting Mix has a multitude of benefits, including a wetting agent, bio stimulants and 4 months of continuous feeding.
  • Seasol will reduce transplant shock and help the damaged roots to recover quickly, driving strong healthy growth in the plant’s new home.
