Nige shares his tips to keep your garden free of debris during this Autumn.
- While a thin layer of leaf litter can act as a natural mulch for your lawn, too much leaf cover can block needed sunlight and airflow to your lawn
- When doing any garden blowing work ensure to wear a good pair of safety goggles and gloves to absorb any vibration caused by the blower.
- Battery-powered blowers, like Stihls BGA 86, are lighter, quieter and easier to use than petrol blowers. They are also very clean with no exhaust fumes.
- When using the BGA 86 blower, keep the nozzle at a shallow angle, blow with the wind and along walls to avoid blowback.
- After blowing, collect the piles of leaves and add them to a mulch. This will ensure the nutrients of the leaves are recycled and the leaves will not blow off again.
- The Stihl BGA 86 blower has full variable speed control enabling users to adjust it to suit the specific task and environment at hand.
