Planting trees in autumn will give them the best chance to develop a strong root system and get established before summer sets in.
- There’s a large range of starter plants available in autumn. They’re small, but they’ve already got a strong root system that’ll keep growing once they’re planted.
- Selecting the correct fertiliser when planting will make a huge difference. Most of these plants are native, so you’ll want to select a fertiliser that’s suitable for them.
- Kangaroo paws will tolerate most fertilisers, but any plants from the Proteaceae family will only respond to native-friendly fertilisers.
- This because of their proteoid roots, a special cluster of roots that have evolved so these plants can grow in phosphorous deficient soils.
- Troforte Plant Tablets are a controlled-release fertiliser that’ll feed your plants over the next 8 months.
- These tablets contain up to 60 minerals, 24 strains of beneficial microbes and all of the trace elements your plants need.
- Your plants will grow quickly once the beneficial microbes take hold. They’ll have strong resistance to pests and diseases and be more tolerant of harsh conditions.
