Don’t worry if you don’t have a big garden, Bonnie shares her tips on creating productive potted gardens. These can be achieved in smaller spaces.
- Having a potted edible garden can be just as productive as having a vegetable patch.
- One of the biggest benefits of growing produce in containers is that it opens a whole range of plants because you can control the soil quality.
- Almost all produce plants thrive in the all-day sun. The more sun they get the better the fruit will taste.
- 3 Container crop combinations that you could make at home; Container 1: Tomatoes and Lettuce, Container 2: Peas/Beans and Spinach (or Chilli and thyme), and Container 3: Kale Root Veg or Herbs.
- Once potted, feed them every 2-3 weeks with a liquid feed or every 3 months with granules.
- By keeping them well-fed, will not only keep them thriving but means you can continuously harvest delicious fresh food from your own garden.
