Story: Plant Deal of the Week - Best trees to plant in Autumn for plentiful fruiting
Episode: 8
Presenter: Trevor Cochrane
Air Date: 6th May 2023
Trevor goes through some of the best fruiting trees you can grow at home with Garden Express.
- More and more varieties of fruit trees are becoming suitable for pots, like Hass and Reed Avocados. They do super well in a barrel and never outgrow it and they produce heaps of fruit.
- Other trees include dwarf varieties of peach and nectarine.
- Even Blueberries do well in tubs, or if the ground is slightly acidic, columnar apples are the way to go.
- These trees are dwarf by nature, getting to 2.5 to 3 metres high, and staying in a pole=like shape at no wider than 600mm wide.
