WA Bonsai Show
Episode: 2
Title: WA Bonsai Show
Broadcast: 12th September 2015
Presenter: Trevor Cochrane
If there was one style of gardening that captivates and enthralls, it has to be bonsai.
- Bonsai is a form of gardening originating from China about 7,000 years ago, moving to Korea where they call it Bunjae and eventually the Japanese about 2,000 years ago, mastering it as an art form. Today it’s appreciated across the planet as not just a type of gardening, but a true art form in its own right.
- The Bonsai society of Western Australia is made up of a group of people who appreciate these beautiful plants to the point of obsession and this year they’ve invited an international Bonsai master, Bjorn Bjorholm, who is in Perth conducting workshops.
- You can drop into the Morley Sport and recreation Centre on September 12th & 13th, during the weekend to see some of Western Australia’s most incredible gardening shows. It’s open between 10am and 5pm.
