Sustainable Classroom Tips

  • The veggie garden teaches students how to plant and harvest edibles
  • Students are involved in projects throughout the garden – watching them grow, harvesting and cooking
  • Students are learning about all the different varieties of edibles like herbs and vegetables through quizzes
  • Staff have seen positive change in the students since the garden was built and there are a lot less behavioural problems as a result
  •  In 3 – 5 years the school will be producing 1600kg of fruit every year!
