Presenter: Mel

Autumn really is a great season for planting. The weather is a bit cooler, rain is more likely and by getting plants into the soil now, you are giving the root system lots of time to establish before the summer heat kicks in again. Get planting with these few handy tips!

  • Hot summers can lead to dry, water repellant soil. To combat this, apply a wetting agent to the ground. In this instance, Mel is using Seasol Super Soil Wetter and Conditioner, which is a wetting agent, soil conditioner and plant health treatment all in one
  • Seasol Super Soil Wetter and Conditioner contains liquid composts, which improve and condition the soil plus added Seasol which promotes strong healthy root growth and overall plant health. You only need to apply it every 3-6 months
  • If you are planting a batch of new veggies, flowers or a tree or two, try adding Seasol Planting Gel to the base of each hole- it’s a blend of semi hydrated water storing crystals – which absorb water then make it available to plants during dry times, plus Seasol and essential nutrients to give new plants a healthy start.
  • You can also give your plants an extra special boost by watering them in using a solution of Seasol seaweed concentrate. This will stimulate strong root growth, help plants cope with all kinds of stress, such as heat, drought and frost, give plants better resistance to sucking insects and fungal attack and promote overall garden health.
