Waterwise Plants
Story Title: Waterwise Plants
Episode 3: WA's Great Gardens
Date: 17 October 2010
Presenter: Neville Passmore
A lot of thought and knowledge goes behind the selection of waterwise plants. Landscaper Darren Seinor features the must have varieties for this season.
Darren's Tips and Facts
- Darren's feature plant for this garden is Apricot frangipanis, as they will provide a rich touch of colour, they are super hardy, easy to care and very low in water use.
- Darren is a big fan of 'Aloe Aloes', they are a great attracting plant, the entire range is compact and flowers for months.
- Kalanchoes and Agaves need very little maintenance to keep them going and they always look good without a down time.
- All plants are provided by Benara Nursery, the largest production nursery in the Southern Hemisphere and it's a WA family owned company based in Carabooda. One of their secrets of success is being able to deliver quality plants across a mind-boggling range.
- Look out for the pine tree logo on pots for a symbol of quality at your local garden centre.
