Lawns are important for our health and the environment, but keeping them lush and green can be a bit of a challenge.
- 6m2 of lush green lawn delivers all the oxygen one adult needs per day, and takes more carbon out of the atmosphere than the same amount of mature rainforest.
- Make sure that your lawn is getting 15mm of water twice a week – in heavy soils, one drink of 25mm will suffice.
- Lawns want at least 8 hours of sunlight per day, and if they get less they become thin and patchy.
- It is important to regularly feed your lawn, especially during the growing season. It is important to use a plant food that will feed the soil and the grass’ roots.
- Troforte has a special lawn blend called Fertolawn – it’s the only lawn food with 24 beneficial microbes infused in a complex mix of macro and micronutrients.
- The combined nutrient and microbe mix are in fine prills, and they scatter falling deep into the soil under the leaves. There is no risk of them being picked up by mower blades and sucked into the catcher – they go straight into the roots.
- Once wet, the prills release the soil microbes, which rapidly multiply by the millions through the soil eating organic matter. They turn atmospheric nitrogen into soil available soluble nitrogen, rapidly greening your lawn and then sustaining it for months afterwards.
- You only need to fertilise your lawn 3 times a year – it also houses beneficial microbes that control problematic pathogens like soil fungi, meaning you don’t have to soak your lawn in chemicals to keep it looking strong and green.
- These microbes eat thatch, meaning less build up, less coring and vertimowing.
- If you have water flowing through your garden, you want a slow release fertiliser.
- Troforte Fertolawn is river and reef safe, and is available through leading independent garden centres.
