Story: Health and Wellness Herbs
Episode: 16
Presenter: Sue McDougall
Air Date: 5th December 2020
Some herbs have incredible medicinal properties. Sue shares two of her favourites for growing this season.
- Brahmi is often referred to as the memory herb. It’s been shown to improve memory function and learning ability.
- Pennywort, also known as the arthritis herb, is recognised for its anti-inflammatory properties.
- Both of these plants will grow in the ground, but they’re best grown in a pot.
- The more soil around their roots, the better. This will keep their root systems cool throughout the hot weather.
- Make sure these plants are well established before you start harvesting them.
- Harvest sprigs of brahmi that are between 3-10cm. Harvest 2 leaves of pennywort daily.
