Excellent soils will result in abundant produce and with the best flavour. Sue shows us how to boost soil structure for stronger and healthier plants.

  • To have successful plants you need to have great quality soil full of beneficial soil microbes.
  • ‘Inbed’ composting is an alternative method to making your own compost. This is where all the leaves from spent crops are laid back on the soil and then covered. All the nutrients from the leaves will break down quickly.
  • Cover the spent crops with Seasol Super Compost, which has organic matter and quality compost already in it ready to go.
  • Seasol Super Compost feeds the beneficial microbes so the leaves that have been laid on the soil surface will break down quickly.
  • Before planting new crops, submerge seedlings in a Seasol solution for at least 10 minutes, this will reduce transplant shock and ensure these seedlings get the best start, by strengthening their root system.
  • Seasol reduces transplant shock and aids plant establishment. It helps promote strong root development and healthy growth. Reduces stress from heat, drought, pests, and diseases.
  • Plant the new seedlings in the areas where the ‘inbed’ composting has worked and the leaves are unrecognizable, this way any bugs have disappeared, and a planting gap breaks the lifecycle of some insects.
  • PowerFeed PRO SERIES Tomatoes & Vegetables promotes healthy growth for larger yields of bigger, tastier tomatoes and vegetables.  It contains liquid compost which improves soil health and maximises nutrient uptake.
  • EarthCare Natural Pyrethrum insect spray kills and controls whitefly, thrips, ants, earwigs, leafhoppers, flies, aphids, cabbage moths and caterpillars. Ideal for use on trees, shrubs, ornamental and flowering plants, fruit, citrus, and vegetables.
