Shontelle shows us her favourite indoor low-light plants and teaches us what you need to know about these beginner-friendly plants.

• Indoor plants are gaining popularity, supported by studies which confirm that having plants in your home or office can positively impact mental health.
• Plants like the cast iron plant, zz plant, mother-in-law's tongue, peace lily, spider plant, and devil's ivy are all hardy and forgiving indoor thrivers, having evolved to adapt to harsh and shady conditions.
• If you’re still worried, indicators of lighting conditions that are too dark include signs of long and leggy growth, or no growth at all. However, the hardiness of these plants allows them to thrive even in rooms with zero natural light when supplemented with a bright lamp or grow light.
• Perfect for beginners, some of these plants also exhibit wilting leaves as a signal for watering, making them forgiving and easy to care for.
• Additionally, most of these plants can be grown directly in a vase of water, and they are all easily propagated, offering a hassle-free option for expanding your indoor plant collection.
