Trevor spring garden tips is to feed plants, control weeds, prune safely, and collect seeds from leafy greens.
- Apply a complete plant food rich in essential nutrients and trace elements. Look for fertilisers with pre- or probiotics that boost soil microbes, improve nutrient uptake, and strengthen plants against pests and disease.
- Use a weed ’n’ feed to tackle Bindii and flat weeds, allowing warm-season grasses to thrive as the days lengthen.
- Longer daylight hours drive new growth, prune citrus and other trees now to maintain height and shape. Use extendable pruning poles to reach up to 4 metres and avoid ladders for safer harvesting.
- Allow leafy greens that have gone to seed to finish setting seed. Harvesting your own seed saves money and ensures plants adapted to your garden’s conditions.
