When spraying chemicals such as weed killers and liquid fertiliser over your garden, it is essential to use a sprayer that is up to the task.

• Pests such as the sap sucking scale can be a real issue for your garden. To deal with them cut off the damaged parts of your plant and squash the scale. For even better results, you could knock up a horticultural oil and spray it over your plants.
• You’ll want to use a quality sprayer that will last a long time – they are often subjected to chemicals, and need to be made from resistant components for maximum strength and durability.
• The key components in a sprayer are the seal and o-rings. Nylex sprayers use Viton® seals to prevent corrosion – this is a specific brand of synthetic rubber that provides the highest level of chemical compatibility and spraying performance.
