Story: Garden Express Promo
Episode: 12
Presenter: Bonnie Marie-Hibbs
Air Date: 6 November 2021
Summer can take a huge toll on plants, the environment, and your water bill! Bonnie reveals a wonderful Waterwise plant variety that will help bring your garden to life in warmer weather.
- Grevilleas are versatile in their diversity in flower colours, blooming time, foliage, and growth habits. And are great for attracting native wildlife such as birds and bees.
- Grevillea Ivanhoe is a large spreading shrub that grows between 3-5 metres wide and tall. It has attractive toothed leaves and red toothbrush flowers.
- If you are after a Grevillea variety that will grow a bit shorter, Bonnie Prince Charlie or Obtusifolia are a great fit. Both will grow roughly 50cm in height and will spread to 2 metres, making them an excellent choice for covering a larger area.
- The Bonnie Prince Charlie will produce brilliant red and yellow flowers and the Obtusifolia will boast spidery dainty red flowers.
- Grevillea Winter Delight is a fantastic low-growing shrub; the clusters of red and cream flowers in winter are perfectly set off by the soft grey foliage.
- Grevillea Mt Tamboritha is a small plant with horizontal root growth, featuring pink-red and cream flowers from autumn through to summer.
- Viewers of The Garden Gurus can pick up all 5 varieties of the Grevillea collection for a saving of up to 25% off.
